My top 25 albums of the decade

LOND'S TOP 25 ALBUMS of the 2000's

Here are a few albums from the last 10 years that are still in rotation on my ipod. I'm still not 100 percent about this list, a few may be out of order but in general these are my favorite. I know I may have left a few out so I won't even bother to mention, I don't have enough space, also there's not many metal albums but I don't listen to metal all day, I'm a fan of good music!! OK here we go....

25. Kings of Leon - Only By Night
"My most recent favorite, truly a great rock record unlike anything that has came out in the last few years, such a solid album, every song rules, great lyrics also"

24. Anal Blast - Battered Bleeding Bitch
"AB will always be my favorite death metal band, they sound so scummy and have some of the most sincere lyrics, they really stepped it up on the production with this one"

23. Scarub - Heavenbound
"Scarub talks about real life on this album unlike most rappers, every song is relatable in one way or another. This album reminds me of riding the MTA buses around LA when I was a teen, not until later would I appreciate this album for what it really is"

22. Tool - Lateralus
"My favorite Tool album, they kinda lost me after this one, I remember the anticipation for this album and it did not let down, this is one of the albums that encouraged me to experiment more with music"

21. Animosity - Shut It Down
"I first saw these dudes at a metal fest in LA around 2004 and couldn't stop thinking about this band, then we played a few shows together and got to become familar with each other and throughout all the albums Animosity put out this one of my favorite, I like the raw production of the album the most, always a classic in my library"

20. Animals As Leaders - Animals As Leaders
"Reflux was a favorite of mine a few years back and when I first heard this album I wanted to die, it was so good, I didn't stop listening for weeks, I'm still listening to it and it only came out earlier this year, words could not explain these songs"

19. At The Drive-In - Relationship of Command
"One of the few bands that come around and change music forever, way ahead of their time, they made the best record they could and went out on top, the influence of this album is still strong today"

18. The Warriors - War is Hell
"I've never been a crazy fan hardcore but this album is just so fun to listen to, you can't help but want to shout along and throw your hands around, the remastered version sounds great!"

17. G & E - No More Greener Grass
"West coast underground hip hop at it's finest, Grouch and Eligh handle all of the production as well as lyrics along with an all star line up of guest, classic positive hip hop"

16. Blood Has Been Shed - Spirals
"BHBS is the heaviest band ever!! This album actually made me buy a set of 70 gauge guitar strings and just chug all day, such an intense album, it will blow your mind!"

15. Meshuggah- Nothing
"First heard these guys around the time this album came out and I just started laughing, for some reason I thought the drumming was hilarious, I couldn't get over how insane the drumming alone is on this album yet it sounds so simple, nothing is over played. All hail Meshuggah!"

14. Brujeria - Brujerizmo
"Dino was the man when it came to low tuned guitars and in my opinion this is some of his best song writing, along with Raymond's drumming, this album is one of the most brutal metal releases ever and it's in spanish!"

13. Killswitch Engage - Alive Or Just Breathing
"Bought this CD used the day after it came out based off of one song and immediately fell in love with every song, one of the best metal albums ever written hands down"

12. Grouch - Show You The World
"Show You The World was an album that I thought was gonna suck, I wasn't sure if Grouch still had it, the album with Zion I kinda lost me but Grouch for sure redeemed himself with this one, every track is a banger, flawless production and intelligent lyrics"

11. As Hope Dies - As Hope Dies
"The reunited As Hope Dies with its new line up was very controversial at the time but the self titled EP they released kept a lot of people quiet, I was aware of AHD before, but this album made me a fan"

10. Little Brother - The Minstrel Show
"Maybe the album that got me back into hip hop, I first heard this album on one of our first tours, not really paying much attention the album started the really grow on me from hearing it in the van so much, after I came back from our winter tour I went out and bought this album"

9. Red Hot Chili Peppers - By The Way
"The Pepps really didn't care on this album, they played what they wanted to play and it was great, going for more of a rock sound, less funk. So much emotion in these songs, so much pain, no one can tell it better then Anthony Kedis"

8. A Perfect Circle - Mer De Noms
"The only super group that doesn't suck, such a solid album, Maynard never sounded so good then on this album, he's still trying to outdo himself from this album, Josh Freese kills on this album, then again he does that on every album"

7. Lamb of God - New American Gospel
"Oh shit!! Lamb Of God was not bull shitting with this one, all the key components are there, raw production, tight rhythm section, great song writing and inaudible vocals, to say the least; Perfect!"

6. John Frusciante - From The Sounds Inside
"Frusciante got off drugs and still wrote amazing quirky songs, proof that the man is a musical genius and not only that but he can record all this on 4 track tape machines and make it sound legit, only Frusciante can do that"

5. The Mars Volta - Deloused in the Comatorium
"At The Drive-In quickly became one of my favorite bands and before I knew it they broke up, I was stoked for this album, the day it came out I bought it and it was glued to the inside of my discman (pre-ipod days, ha ha)"

4. Pantera - Reinventing the Steel
"Maybe the heaviest Pantera album of all time? I got this one while I was going into my Junior year in high school and it really helped me out with where I wanted to go with my drumming"

3. Poison The Well - Tear From The Red
"Who didn't love PTW back then? They perfected Metalcore on OOD and with this album they shattered it! Such an amazing album, every song has you singing along, catchy as fuck, still a very influential album in my writing"

2. Glassjaw - Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Silence
"The album that was written about my teenage life, ha ha! No kidding, I got into this at the right time in my life, the music and the lyrics for sure helped me through some rough times. Justin Beck is an amazing song writer and musician, this is one of the albums that will always remain relevant in my life"

1. Deftones - White Pony
"The anticipation around White Pony was enormous, everyone was talking about it, I remember it being one of the first albums that was widely leaked on the internet, and of course I had a copy. When I first heard "Change" I swear I jizzed my pants, the Deftones were my favorite band since 8th grade and I waited two years to hear this album, I went and bought this album the day it came out, I still have the original gray copy not the white one, too bad I didn't get the black or red copy but either way this is my favorite album of the decade, nothing can top this one, the band got it down right on this album and let me note that this isn't my favorite Deftones album but let's face it, this is the album they will be remembered for"
